The importance of fabric direction.

Description

So I learned a little lesson yesterday. When the pattern has a grain direction- IT FUCKING MEANS IT. I wanted the fur to go more downwards instead of sideways, so I turned the pattern 90 degrees... then wondered WTF happened when I tried to stuff the head on the right. Looks like a crazy alien baby, doesn't it? This is what happens when you go against the grain of your fabric. The left one is the 2nd attempt, matching the pattern to the grain the way I should have from the start.
The pony body I did the wrong way too, but it really doesn't look nearly as wonky. It looks more chibi, so for this pony, I'm keeping it that way. Next time though I'll do things properly. ^^; Explains why sewing it was a bitch!

Oh yeah - minky esp has a strong stretch in one dir. When you're designing, you have to watch and make sure the stretches match for the entire plush (think architecture forces). ex. if the stretch on the head is left-right, the body should be as well. Learned that the hard way! :)
